**FREE PATTERN**
This Hello Spring crochet chunky blanket pattern uses 2 familiar stitches… the single crochet and chain stitches to create this pretty Moss Stitch. As you combine these two foundational stitches you will see a beautiful texture immerge in this crochet chunky blanket pattern. This stitch works great with blanket yarn that has dappled colors like below.

**I used 3 Jumbo Balls of “Dried Flowers” to create a 65″lg x 40″ wide afghan (about 1300 yards total)

Abbreviations:
- ch – chain
- st – stitch
- sc – single crochet stitch
- sl-st – slip stitch
- [xx] – number of finished stitches in a row

Pattern Instructions:
- ch 124 (or your desired length in multiples of 2 +4); turn
- This sets the length of the afgan. Make it however long you want
- Row 1 – sc into the 4th chain from hook, ch 1, skip a chain stitch; *sc in next chain stitch, ch 1, skip a chain stitch*, repeat between * *; sc in the chain right before the slip knot. [120]
- ch 2 and turn
- Row 2 – sc into the first chain space, ch 1; *sc in next chain space, ch 1,*, repeat between * *; sc in the space right before chain 4 at the begging of row 1. [120]
- ch 2 and turn
- Rows 3- end – Repeat Row 2 until the afghan measures as long as you would like.
- Finish with a sc on the last space from the turning chain. Cut a 6″ tail and pull through and secure
- Weave in all loose ends with a darning/yarn needle
Optional: Finishing with tassels!!
- Cut a number of strands of yarn to 14″ long
- Taking 3 strands together, fold in half and know into fringe through even spaces along the ends
